Understanding .NET
A One-day Seminar
Microsoft has described the .NET initiative as the biggest change
since the introduction of Windows. Among other things, .NET includes
a technology for exposing software services over the web, a new
standard language runtime library, a large class library, and C#,
a new programming language. It also includes ASP.NET and ADO.NET,
the next generations of the ASP and ADO technologies. This seminar
provides an architectural introduction to the .NET technologies,
describing the services .NET provides, the technology underlying
those services, and how .NET relates to the Java world.
Audience
The target audience for this seminar is decision makers, architects,
analysts, developers, and anyone else who needs to understand what
.NET is and how it works. Although some technical background in
the Windows environment is assumed, this is not a programming course.
